Grand County Schools

Grand County is located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains immediately west of Rocky Mountain National Park. It is approximately 85 miles from Denver and in the middle of a spectacular recreation area. The East Grand School District serves six rural communities covering an area of 712 square miles. These communities are: Fraser, Granby, Grand Lake, Hot Sulphur Springs, Tabernash, and Winter Park.

The District is one of the few in the state that is on a successful 4-day school week, with classes meeting Monday through Thursday. The calendar has 144 student/teacher contact days and exceeds the contract requirements set by the Colorado Department of Education. The school year generally begins the week prior to Labor Day and ends the last week of May/first week of June.

Ask Brenda about Grand County schools. Over the years her three kids have attended Elementary Schools (Fraser and Granby) the Middle School (Granby) and the High School (Granby). Her oldest daughter graduated a valedictorian from Middle Park High School and is currently completing her 4 year degree in 3 years due to all of the college credits she received for taking AP classes.  Brenda’s middle son participated in the Full Time Competitive Ski program while attending Middle Park High School and her youngest is currently enjoying the Middle School.
