Since she decided to call Grand County home in 1988, Mara Erlandson hasn’t missed a day outdoors. In winter, she’s on the Nordic ski trails; in summer, on her mountain bike. “Every day, after work, I need to get out into nature, without fail,” she says.    Her lifestyle here is about being present, but so, too, is her work in real estate. “With our clients, we’re focused on the final result, but we make a point to enjoy the journey. I love exploring a property that’s new to me, or turning somebody else on to a great property is really fun. The day-to-day business is never the same, which makes it interesting and challenging but we also get the opportunity to get excited for our clients.”   Despite being in touch with her clients’ feelings of joy, Mara strives to be a calm, cool and collected negotiator and partner. “Keeping extreme emotions out of the transaction is important,” she adds. “We’re kind of therapists when it comes to keeping things level and not as emotional as it could be. I grew up in a family of nine kids. You learn to share, negotiate... you learn relationships and patience.”    Early in her career Mara worked to build her real estate foundation by receiving her Graduate Realtor Institute designation, and in 2005 earned the prestigious Certified Residential Specialist. Fewer than 3% of realtors nationwide currently hold this designation which is the highest professional designation awarded to realtors in the residential sales field. She also acquired her Resort and Second Home Specialist certification, which is critical for the Grand County market.   When describing her team’s style, she explains “we’re not bulldogs. We want to make it easy for other agents to work with us, because that benefits our clients. We hope to have a reputation for that, and in a small community, it’s critical.”  “I’m one of those connector people,” Mara says. “I have a lot of acquaintances and I love connecting my clients and friends, helping them feel part of the community.  I like to introduce them to volunteering opportunities with our local non-profit organizations or invite them to book clubs, library and town events. I enjoy seeing clients become a part of the fabric of our community.”   Fast Facts: Favorite trail:  The new WTB and Razzmatazz Favorite org:  Pet Pals, Headwaters Trails Alliance Favorite bite:  Paella’s and Durbar in Winter Park  Grand County’s best kept secret:  Hot Sulphur Springs hot springs resort

Carol has a love of design, and for her, it’s a perfect fit with her work with her real estate clients. “With selling I love to do a lot of staging for properties,” she says. “We have older properties in our area, so I love to help buyers come up with ideas that are mountain modern—changing a paint color, light fixture, or furniture can change the whole feel of the property. Sometimes people just need a little vision, and I’m willing to play!” In particular, Carol loves the new lifestyle that is emerging, particularly in Winter Park. “Our downtown is changing. We’re getting people moving here from different backgrounds, they’re looking for friends in the neighborhood. In my own neighborhood in Grand Park, the friend group has expanded... it was what I remember growing up as a kids, running free back and forth, knocking on each other’s doors to come out and play.” Originally from Massachusetts, Carol has called Colorado home for more than 20 years and has live in Grand County since 2005, gaining her real estate license in 2006. She began her real estate career at Re/Max Peak to Peak in October of 2014, joining the Grand Mountain Group team in the summer of 2017. As a detail-oriented person, Carol’s “work smarter, not harder” ethic has led her to develop systems to help sales go through effortlessly, while utilizing strong marketing skills to bring buyers and sellers together smoothly and quickly. She prides herself on her client communication, marketing, social media, and her integrity as well as her knowledge of local markets. An avid biker and skier, Carol is not only an ideal tour guide within the local market, but also for all the best places to play in Grand County. Grand County is changing, Carol says, and she’s eager to help clients navigate the shifting market. “I’m excited for the people finding us now,” she says. “I love working with clients who are here for the lifestyle and like to be active, but I relate really well to people who are also into fashion, design, beauty, aesthetics. My ideal clients are fun, outgoing happy people who are excited to be here and will be part of the change and help Grand County grow.” Fast Facts: Favorite trail: Paper Boy, for downhill biking at the resort Favorite bev: A chardonnay at Vertical Bistro Favorite hangout: Volario’s patio Favorite ski run: Outhouse on a powder day Grand County favorite: “I never miss closing day at the resort. After moving to the Front Range of Colorado in 2013 and then to the mountain community of Grand County in 2019, Amanda found a passion for real estate and obtained her Colorado Real Estate Broker License. She began her journey with RE/MAX Peak-to-Peak and is a team member of Grand Mountain Group. She has two boys who are actively involved in the Winter Park Competition Center and like many other Coloradans, has done the commute to the mountains for several years, until the timing was right to become a permanent resident. Amanda has a background in the travel industry. She has explored much of the world and enjoys meeting new people, especially those who are interested in “living life to the fullest.” Amanda met her husband, while he was in the United States Air Force, and adopted the core values of Integrity first, Service before self, and Excellence in all we do.  She enjoys helping Veterans with the home buying process.  Amanda has an acute attention to detail and has the innate ability to communicate to her clients the process of real estate in easy-to-understand terms. Living in a four-season mountain town allows Amanda to ski in the winter, bike in the summer, and hike all year round.
